Anal Fistula or Fistula in ano is an abnormal track or path between anal canal and the skin around anus (Perianal area). It is commonly known as Bhagandar in Ayurveda and is described in detail by Shushruta, the Great Ancient Indian Surgeon.
The symptoms include appearance of a boil at any point around anus which may have mild, moderate or severe pain with continual pus discharge. The amount of discharge may vary from case to case depending upon the nature of Fistula.
Treatment of Fistula in ano is by Surgery or by Ayurveda kshara sutra procedure.
